The 32 specialties in the registry
The number is how many there are across the whole island, verified against the federal registry. Tap any to see where they are and their phone numbers.
Psychologists, optometrists, and podiatrists are licensed and have a federal NPI, but they are not medical doctors. We list them separately so you know exactly who you are seeing.
How it was made (and why you can trust it)
Every person in this registry exists in the NPPES (National Plan and Provider Enumeration System), the official US federal registry that Medicare and health plans use. We took only individual providers practicing in Puerto Rico, by taxonomy code (the official specialty), and organized them by region. Each NPI is a public number anyone can verify.
What you won't find anywhere else: the government has the data, but buried, in English, not organized by town. We made it clear, in one place, by hand. See something outdated or a provider who no longer practices here? Tell us and we fix it — angel@angelanderson.com.
Journalist, health plan, or researcher? This data is citable and programmatic access is available. Reach out.
